Accessing PA Senate Republican News and the PA Senate Republican Podcast via RSS Feeds
- RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and is an easy way to keep up with your favorite news and information.
- Using a code called XML, it lets Web surfers view the latest headlines and summaries from their favorite sites in one
place, called a feed reader or news aggregator.
- RSS feeds also can be viewed on any XML-compatible device such as a cell phone, pager, or handheld computer.
They even allow sound files to be downloaded to audio devices such as iPods,
allowing consumers to listen to podcast programs at their convenience.
These mp3 sound files can also be downloaded to and played on your home computer with the proper application.
- A primary advantage of RSS feeds is that they
give you control over the information you receive on the Web. Today, many
news organizations, blogs (Web logs) and other Internet sites provide
their latest information via RSS feeds, making it more convenient than ever
for people to stay up-to-date on topics that are important to them.
- A wide range of RSS readers are free and can be
found by doing a search on the Google or Yahoo. Once you've found an RSS
reader, copy one of the following URLs (web addresses), follow the
reader's directions, and plug it in.
